Biography
Moamar is currently involved in studying endometriosis in his local and regional communities in the Middle East and is heavily involved in promoting awareness of this disease and related symptoms, especially among health professionals and families within the Middle East. He believes that it is of high importance to identify early symptoms suggestive of endometriosis in teenagers, especially in those young girls with a family history and severe dysmenorrhea that negatively affects quality of life.He is one of the pioneers in the quest for biomarkers for the diagnosis of endometriosis. His research about uterine nerve fibres indicated the possibility of utilizing these findings as a minimally invasive and specific test. He is also interested in development of novel modalities for medical treatment of endometriosis by combining different types of progestogens and their long-acting delivery systems. He has published several articles in peer reviewed International Journals and two chapters in books addressing endometriosis. Recently Moamar published an article exploring insulin resistance and obesity among PCOS phenotypes in infertile women with PCOS.
